Von - Satanic Blood Angel (2003)

Satanic Blood Angel es un compilado oficial lanzado en 2003 por la discográfica "Nuclear War Now!"
El mismo incluye el demo "Satanic Blood" (Track 1 al 8), el demo "Blood Angel" (Track 9 al 14) y una actuacion en vivo de 1992.

El único lanzamiento oficial de la banda antes de este compilado data del año 1992 y se trata del demo "Satanic Blood", pero existen cientos de bootlegs como es el caso del split con Dark Funeral y muchas grabaciones en vivo.
El sonido de la banda es extremandamente crudo y minimalista valiéndose de una base casi continua de blast beats (no siempre) y un par de simples riffs con letras que hablan sobre el satanismo, la muerte y la violencia.

Daemonia Nymphe - The Bacchic Dance Of The Nymphs - Tyrvasia

Sonidos de cuerda muy simples, y lineales, percusiones monótonas/repetitivas/rituales que están en un segundo plano, algún instrumento de viento que sigue la melodía, y la voz de Pantelis y Spyros como letanías o poemas, una música propia de la tradición teatral de la tragedia griega con infinidad de pequeños matices. Con un sonido a veces muy crudo, (aparentemente improvisado (lejos de la realidad)) que impregna mas ese sabor antiguo de su música.
Este proyecto se ve muy potenciado por una colaboración que aparece entre la banda y un constructor de instrumentos Nikos Brass, el cual ha ido construyendo antiguos instrumentos hoy en día desaparecidos, a partir de dibujos y papiros de la Grecia clásica.

Para los amantes del folk con raíces históricas esta es una banda interesante de seguir, porque tienen calidad musical y porque hay una labor de investigación y de creatividad muy importante tras ellos.
